I think having Mike back has taken some pressure off of Bob. I think he has full faith and confidence in Mike's schemes and doesn't feel like he has to worry about looking over the defensive gameplan and can focus on being a better head coach and other phases of the team. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a big boost to the special teams this year.
"With Nebraska trying to leave, we felt like we needed to send them out with a loss, and we did." -Ryan Broyles-
Exactly! Not to mention the house cleaning he did after the season. He must feel kinda refreshed/renewed I guess.
I think he got rid of a lot of headaches when he trimmed the rotten spots from his team. That in itself would shrink those bulging veins in his temple.
I've been thinking the same thing. He is showing a lot of calm confidence lately. For several years he always seemed tensed up. Now he seems contented and looking at staying for a while and having some fun.
I think turning the special teams over to BJW is a very good move. Also, several of the incoming players have a history of returning kicks. We ought to be able to find some magic in at least two of them!
I'm cautiously optimistic this year. I have a really, really good feeling about this year, that I haven't had in years. But unlike the other years, I'm not sure why I'm so optimistic.
