BYLRK.....your right on the money. The Landry Jones apologists are maddening. I am not going to dring LJ coolaid until I see something worth drinking to this year. Ihave watched football for over forty years and can spot good caliber play fairly easily. LJ has performed well in about half his games. This isnt rocket science.

if you have been watching the game that long, then shame on you for not understanding that the QB does not play in a vacuum, the rest of the team is to blame as well, and in most cases more to blame.

  • I wonder how the Landry-bashers feel about the fact that Landry and Bell are pretty good friends, and that Bell has never said an envious word about Landry in the media.

But, this is far from the first time I've seen this in the fan base. There was a faction in my senior year that was SURE that J.C. Watts was unfit to start at QB for OU and openly campaigned for Kelly Phelps to take his position. That got more than a bit irritating.

  • Here is a fact! Landry can and does make all the throws necessary to be a very good QB and has been at this level. Another fact! We lost our ability to make all the catches when Broyles went down for the season, this is a fact not an excuse! You take a QB's running game away and cut one hand off of the rest of his receivers once his money guy goes down you are not going to be as effective throw on top of that the D's inability to stop anybody and it makes you look worse. Sam is not here anymore and it will be a while before another like him comes along so get used to it and embrace the very good QB we are lucky to still have! Landry being here for his senior year gives us a chance for number 8, had he left it is a 9-3 8-4 rebuilding year and anybody ok with that is not a true OU FAN IN MY BOOK!
