10 Thoughts from a Casual Observer

  • 1. Second loss where the opponents game plan was to isolate one player in the secondary and exploit him the entire game.
    2. Defense looked tired and dejected. Spark and swagger missing.
    3. Tipped ball was good luck for them. A dropped touchdown was bad luck for them. Luck did not win this game.
    4. Hard to beat a good team with the injuries, but the great teams do it. The defense was not the same when the Hammer went down.
    5. The Belldozer is the future of an evolving Tebow-like offense. Say goodbye to the pro-style QB. In college, need a QB that can pass and run...see Robert Griffin III.
    6. Playcalling becoming to predictable...run, pass, pass. Allowed them to blitz successfully and putting too much pressure on young wideouts.
    7. Stills is no Broyles until he learns to stop shortarming balls and quitting on routes. Reynolds will be the go-to guy eventually.
    8. Going for 2 was the right call. Calling a timeout without the Hammer, a tired defense and a running QB...wrong call.
    9. Dont buy the argument that Big 12 offenses are too good for any defense...if that was the case the Big 12 would have three national championships in the last three years.
    10. Until we have an SEC secondary, we will always struggle to win every game.

    Go win the Big 12...Boomer

  • Good list. Agree with everything, especially #8 but excepting #10. I think until we have a DT's that pressure a QB from the inside out, we'll struggle in every game.

    Cover 2

  • Our defense, at the least for the last two years, continues to be exposed.

  • Bob Stoops and the Sooners have become the laughingstock of college football.
And until Bob makes major changes, his dirty drawers will be hanging out for everybody to see.

    sonofpoweredge

  • People everywhere are saying Bob is a choke artist and OU is nothing but a paper tiger.

The sad thing is that they are correct.

OU will NEVER win another championship as long as he is our coach.

    It really is embarrassing!

  • Bob knows the championship formula, why he no longer seems to embrace it us beyond most of us?
I never really cared to have Mike Stoops back here, but it might not be bad, he'll listen to Mike.

    Mysterio1

  • How can you write Bob Stoops doesnt know championships...he has dominated the second hardest conference in the U.S. and won a national championship.

I do think changes are needed, but more in recruiting better secondary and defensive line talent.

  • Sorry, but OU's recruits are right on par with texas, bama, arkansas, lsu and better than oregon. None of those teams have been lit up like OU has this year. There is something wrong with the scheme.
