Hotel near Six Flags over Texas

  • going to six Flags for 2 days this summer and I need a decent hotel where we can have some fun, be safe, and close enough to SF to take the tram.

Also any good dining suggestions would be appreciated. obviously we will yhave the kids with us so Bob's is out of the question :( . I love that place. But places close to the SF area would be nice.

There is also a Hilton near there - I used to live in Arlington at that Hilton while I worked for Six Flags (long story) - its super nice but I am not sure about a tram.

As far as restaurants- the highest grossing Cheddar's in the US is right outside the gate. There is also quite a few restaurants on Collins Ave. Also, SF has "meal deals" you can purchase online. Cheaper than buying the food in the park.

  • My family and I go to Six Flags every summer and we stay at the La Quinta , its a very nice, clean hotel, bout $100 a night and its right across the street from the Six Flags entrance and can easily be walked. I believe the hotel is on Watson Road.

You can see Six Flags from the place and we only had to get a queen because the couch pulls out and the kids thought it was trick to sleep on a pull out.. which is what I shoulda done a long time ago....

This is where I stay for the OU/Texas game. It's very nice. Humperdinks is close also.

  • I think the La Quinta is the way to go. It's within walking distance, they have a pool, a hot tub, a 2 room suite is $140, and they have free wifi and breakfast.
