I don't usually like making posts like this, but I've been pouring my life into this for well over a year and thought other OU fans/alumni might be interested in this.
I grew up an OU fan, going to my first OU football game at the age of 3. I also grew up loving video games, and I started developing games when I was 13. I graduated from OU in the spring of 2011, and decided to take my game development full time instead of getting a traditional job. I've now got 3 people on my team and a small office in downtown OKC, but we need help completing our game that we've been working on since early last year.
We launched a Kickstarter to get the funds needed to finish and launch the game, and we are now less than 24 hours from the end of the campaign. We are very close, but we need another 9% or so to complete the funding. The way Kickstarter works, the only way you get the funds is if you reach 100%. So, fellow Sooners, if any of you are interested in video games or just want to help out a video game startup in OK, please check out our Kickstarter page:
Oklahoma City-based GoldFire Studios hopes to be able to afford a bigger office by next year. The city's only video game startup is currently housed in a dimly lit but orderly one-room office equipped with a refrigerator, a sink and long table cluttered with several computers in the back of a downtown building.
