Yes I am sure about that. They didn't whine and piss and moan like other areas did to get their city back on their feet. They didn't whine about Obama not showing up. They didn't wait for assistance. Instead, they got together as a community and worked to take care of the flooding and to take care of each other.
Apparently, you don't understand that part of self sufficiency. Tennesseans didn't just wait, whine and blame until the almighty POTUS or FEMA came to the "rescue". You weren't here and didn't deal with the tragedy nor did you get to see the hard work that people put in to help others.
A small community just north of me flooded. One of my friends converted his truck to where the water wouldn't ruin it. He ran a taxi service free of charge for all the community in order to get them to work and to school. He was paid nothing and asked for nothing.
The the red cross showed up a week after their house had flooded(government didn't) and told them that the houses were too nice, so they must make too much money to need their help. And then left without offering help. This community got through it while being self sufficient. BTW, my friend was being called up to the military, his wife has Multiple sclerosis and they have 3 young kids. They are not rich. So, yes, I am sure about self sufficiency.

I think the main reason people do not want to have or see spiritual discussions in a “common area” is because they reject the truth and do not want to FACE the music, so to speak. It makes them uncomfortable because deep down they realize this is a very serious issue that MUST be dealt with. As long as it can be restricted to church buildings and inside people’s private homes or in a strictly religious board, then they can feel at ease once again, because you don’t have to deal with something that you can’t see, right?

I see the "big picture" and it isn't 100% the fault of "liberal progressives" as you would try and make people think. You sure use a lot of far right talking points for someone who at other times tries to say that God is the only answer and not political parties. Can't have it both ways.
Oh and don't say stupid things like "so called global warming" when you aren't prepared to back it up.

Never understood why politicians need to view disasters. Stay in contact with local leaders, view video footage, make the required requests for federal aid, the end.
Not a fan of hers, not a fan of Palin, not a fan of Askins, but then again none of of these people can stop disasters or make them better by looking at a snapped tree.
