Well, it really has come to this fellow Sooner fans. I know you are some of the most patriotic folks I have ever known, so I thought you would like to know the latest.
We are not going to have hot chow for bfast out here very soon. Some of my fellow soldiers have already had it cut. The budget doesn't allow for it apparently. Oh well - we are soldiers and we will soldier on! However, I am curious though what cutbacks our elected officials are sacrificing??? Vacations, cocktail parties, catered events, etc.?
Compounded with a diminished retirement plan and an increase in medical premiums, I am very disappointed with many of these officials. If you are also bothered by this, please contact your elected official and let them know how you feel. We would sure appreciate it.
God bless you and thank you for your service.. Its terrible what they are doing now!
I don't know about anyone else, but my elected officials are too busy taking lobbyist money to be bothered by whether the troops get a hot breakfast.
Hey, Congress wants the White House to start agreeing to making serious spending cuts. Guess who get it first? You know the old saying, out of sight, out of mind.
But seriously, this is b.s. I think that providing at the very least hot grub to the troops, when they're not out in the field, should be a priority. Thanks for the heads up. I'll be sending my representatives a little note on this.
Thanks JetDoc! That is exactly the issue pefectly stated and I am grateful you are taking the time to respond and commit to action.
Often, we will be out on missions lasting for days. Sometimes, we only have time to take a shower, eat one meal, and head back out aka "turn and burn". In my opinion, that one meal should be a huge hot meal. I am grateful for the many resources provided to us. We are almost always the best resourced organization in theatre.
It's disgusting but I don't know our way back. Scum seems to have won in these morally bankrupt times.
Glad us military can take cuts while the IRS blows 50 million on conferences and targets conservatives.
How many billions of dollars were sent to iraq and afghanistan and we have no idea where it went or what it was spent on? And youre worried about 50 mil spent on a bunch of lame accountants spending a weekend line-dancing? It seems that you are choosing to focus on the very small things instead of the big big ones.
If you are speaking about the scum that led us into an unjustified war and those profitting off it, yes, they are indeed morally bankrupt.
Not to mention the $70,000,000 in bonus' that the IRS is being given for poor work.
I don't know about you but, $50,000,000 is a lot of money. Ask haliburton and all the private contractors, not to mention all of the billions that were lost in Iraq and Afghanistan where the money goes. Supplying the troops with hot meals should be a priority. That's the least our government should do for the troops, especially if they're deployed thousands of miles from the U.S.A.
On one side you signed up for that. Some jarheads take great pride on the fact they slept on a dirt ground and eat nothing but MRE's for 30 days straight.
But on the otherside I've always believed if you send men out to war. They need guns that work and hot meals.
Agree all around that other things should be cut before they start cutting hot meals for our soldiers.
Howdy Ho guys, Im Mr Hankey and here are some pictures of my family. I love swimming, holidays, soft paper and brown objects like footballs.
Why do good people die or get cancer while people like you live on?
