I don’t think they have a very clear idea on the exact track and timing of the storm. When they get a better handle they will have a much better idea about the amounts and types of precipitation.
Apparently some of the weather models very greatly. This is not likely to happen but this model shows a 20” snow for the OKC area. But if it did happen with the wind and cold they are expecting we would be stranded for days with the way they clear snow in our area.

Nick in my neighborhood the sun is basically our snow plow.
But the neighbors have gotten together before and shovel out the bigger drifts in our streets. A Humvee and another 4 wheel drive got stuck in a big drift in front of my house during the 2009 Christmas Eve storm. Hopefully this storm won’t be as bad but I have been thinking about what I could use for a snow fence.

Some friends and I went in on a 1974 Chevy Caprice station wagonthat we paid $250 cash for the day before the snowstorm in March '94. We built a ramp on the playground of the local elementary school the morning of the storm and took turns ramping the old wagon until the axle broke. We left it sitting there until school officials had it dragged away the next week :)
