2012 G Kamy Cole (5'8) of Brock, Texas has de-committed from the Sooners and now is going to go to SMU. Cole has been committed to OU for close to two years but she started to question her total commitment to the game and has decided that he wants to stay closer to home and play for SMU.
In the 2012 class OU has three scholarships to give and OU is in on several of the top players in the country. The Sooners are very much in the running for SG Nicole Kornet (5'11) of Lantana Liberty Christian, Texas who is also considering Stanford, Notre Dame, UCONN and Vanderbilt.
Wing Alexis Prince (6'2) of Maitland Edwater, Florida is the wow prospect of the 2012 class. An outside player at 6'2 with freakish talent and many feel she is the best player in the country. She has already set a visit date with OU (10-23) and is also considering Kentucky, LSU, Maryland and Baylor.
Also high on the Sooners board is wing Nirra Fields (5'9) of Santa Anna Mater Dei, California. Fields is an electric combo guard that can run the point and well as shoot it from the off-guard. An interest twist to Fields recruiting is that she is originally from Canada and currently lives with LA Lakers Head Coach Mike Brown and his family. She also plans to visit OU, USC, Louisville, Duke and Ohio State.
Workouts are underway for the Sooner women and freshman PG Deshawn Harden of Olatha, Kansas has been very impressive as a freshman. Harden will start at the PG spot and should be a great player at OU. Junior Whitney Hand (6'1) is healthy and playing great at camp and sophomore Aaryn Ellenberg is having a great camp.
Inside Nicolle Griffin is gaining strength and putting on some weight. Freshman Kaylon Williams (6'3) out of Midwest City has impressed and Lyndsey Cloman continues to improve.

Kornet is in a situation where she wants OU, but mommy wants Stanford. At the moment anyway.
Really? That's interesting about Kornet's mom. She was very close friends with my late wife. She's the news anchor for TXA 21 in Dallas. I'll grill her about it. I didn't even realize there was a mutual interest between Nicole and OU.
I hate that I can't say who told me this, but it is someone close to the girl.
