Despite 12 points from Andrew Fitzgerald and 10 points each from Isaiah Cousins and Cam Clark, the Oklahoma Sooners were unable to overcome a strong Iowa State first half and lost to the Cyclones 83-64 in Ames.
Iowa State hit eight three-pointers in the first half, and 21 of its first 31 points came from beyond the arc. The Cyclones hit seven of their first ten from downtown before settling down to connect on eight of their 16 long-distance shots in the opening half.
ISU's three-point shooting propelled them to its 13-point halftime lead before the lead was extended by a 9-2 run to open the second half.
The Sooners return home to the Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT against Kansas (ESPN).
