One of the bright spots offensively for the Oklahoma Sooners thus far has been the play of true freshman receiver Sterling Shepard

    • Well remember his daddy and uncles. Saw 'em all and I think "Shep" has it in his DNR. Woody made one of the toughest plays I've ever seen when in frigid weather up in Lincoln, he came off the bench in the last few minutes of the game and hit Rhodes for a big gain to set up the hook and lateral that Elvis took down to the 4 yard line and then OU scored and won the game. One play with no warm up. Amazing.

    • This IS another Ryan Broyles and we are lucky he's a SOONER!

    • Based on last saturday, he should be starting.

    • Just like Millard is going to emerge!

Landry is going to have a hell of a year, he 's a 5thyear senior, MORE poised, LESS rattled

Brown is just what our offense needed, yet we throw 2 him 2-3 times a game..

mcamara is a great rec tight end... Really? sure would like to see it...

these posts are the very posts that gets all of us, OU fans excited and ready to see it on the field.. Perhaps the title could and should day, Sterling has the potential to Emerge!!

you saying WILL really goes against whats happening on the field. because josh is still calling the plays

i know ill get flamed, but it is important to remember that these posts, conditions the minds of some.. its just like last year, millard to emerge and get more carries....or landry is coming back and really is looking forward to being under center which will help his nfl career.. a big reason why he came back. really?

Theres no doubt that shepard is a star, a solid player and most likely a game changer... I just dont believe the hype, anymore about what coaches say

We should probably let the guy get through his freshman year before we start handing out trophies and comparing him to the NCAA leader in receptions. Just saying.

Sorry, I'm handing out the accolades NOW!! This guy is an exceptional player. Ain't waiting til the end of the year to say it.

Sorry! I'm pouring on the accolades right now. This is an exceptional player. I ain't waitin til the end of the year. I watched him in high school and expected him to be an immediate contributor and he hasn't disappointed. Metroyer has a ways to go to be the receiver we thought he was going to be, but I also think he will eventually get there.

    • Take your sour grapes and suck on them for hours and while you suck on them put your fingers in the juice so both your mouth and your hands can't bemoan our team! No one likes losing! No one enjoys seeing their team look lost! No one believes you can blame one person for the loss! I hate it when they lose! I Hate it when our STAR? quarterback playes like a freshman! No one likes it when after spring practices, fall practices, a game and 2 weeks of preparation our team comes in and is not ready or does not appear to be attentative! But to continue to BASH and TRASH them is not acceptable! Get over it and Give them REAL SUPPORT! Not fly by night if you win I will Love you! Leave the Make My Day to Clint Eastwood!gun

    • Not sure if he was bashing the players. Maybe he was bashing the reporting on this site, or a comment from the coaches. Coaches and Players have to maintain a POSITIVE attitude and so we will FOREVER get coach speak.

I understand the guy is good football player. He's also 18 years old!!!! Comparing him to a guy that is playing in the NFL as if he's a mirror image, is not realistic considering he's played a handful of downs in college ball. He has the potential to be a great player. Making some big catches in one game does not make you Ryan Broyles. Sorry

    • I too have bought in to the hype the last few years only to be let down. We have been spoiled by our success and it is easy to get your hopes up when you read this site but that's just life.

I will root for the Sooners no matter what my expectations have become.

No offense to you James or the rest of the staff at OUI. But as of today I will stop reading this board. I will pick backup after football season. It is a shame that there is so little perspective by some. I am going to enjoy this season and the only way I can is to not allow other to take the joy out of it. So here is to a successful season and much support to our Sooners in whatever arena they made find themselves!

Look guys, this is very simple. We get as frustrated as you do. We go in and ask questions and we cannot control what both the coaches and players say and how they answer the questions that are asked. I understand that the fans are upset because of the state of the program and yes we in the media can see the issues as well and ask the questions that we think address the current issues that the program is going through. HOWEVER, we can only report what we are being told. If we (the media) could attend practice then it would be fair to hold us accountable for what we report but since that isnt the case, we can only report what we are being told.

I have a seperate thread where I ask for your questions and I in turn ask those to teh coaches and players. They answer them either to the best of their ability or what they are allowed to say. I publish those as well. So if any of you decide to stop reading what we put out then that is your choice but please understand that we are doing our best with what we have to work with.

      Thanks

      Mike

You spend your whole post doubting what a reporter says can be true then in your last paragraph you agree with him?
