Once again, the Sooners have swept the Bedlam Series, defeating their in-state rival Oklahoma State Cowboys 77-74 Saturday afternoon in Stillwater.
It marks the fourth time in the last nine seasons the Sooners have done so.
This time, guard Buddy Hield sparked it, pouring in a team-high 22 points, including a pair of critical 3’s late that helped OU turn a five-point deficit with three minutes to play into a five-point lead it would ride to the finish.
Guard Frank Booker also got in on the 3-point action, canning 4-of-6 treys to finish with a career-high 15 points.
For the Cowboys, guard Markel Brown led the way with his game-high 26 points.
Guard Phil Forte and forward Le’Bryan Nash managed 16 and 15, respectively, to also finish in double figures.
The Sooners led 39-37 at intermission before falling down as much as eight in the second half.
Then, they rallied and came over the top, in large part thanks to a 34-1 bench point advantage.
OU (19-7, 8-5 Big 12) now gets a week off before hosting Kansas State at 3 p.m. CT Saturday.
