NORMAN, Okla. — Head coach Lon Kruger and the Sooners have themselves another highly ranked post player for the 2014 class.
Power forward Dante Buford, out of Arlington Country Day School in Jacksonville, Fla., has committed to the Sooners, choosing them over finalists the Miami Hurricanes and South Carolina Gamecocks.
"I am now committed to the University of Oklahoma!" Buford tweeted early Thursday morning.
Buford, listed at 6-foot-7, 205 pounds, is a four-star post with a 0.9285 rating in the 247 Composite.
He's the No. 8 player in the state of Florida, No. 21 power forward and 107th ranked player in the Top 247.
Buford visited officially for the Texas Tech football game Oct. 26, his second of three recent officials.
The Sooners now have three posts and a pair of power forwards committed for 2014, as Khadeem Lattin recently pledged as well.
They're ranked No. 51 and second in the Big 12 behind No. 14 Oklahoma State.
