Sooners snag Quick

NORMAN, Okla. — The Sooners have landed their most prized prospect down the stretch, securing a verbal from four-star athlete Michiah Quick.

Quick, out of Fresno (Calif.) Central East HS, is a two-way stud ranked as the No. 56 overall player, No. 7 athlete and No. 7 player in the state of California with a 0.9703 rating, according to the 247 Composite.

He’s a two-way player and one that will also be utilized in the special teams game.

The 6-foot, 170-pound speedster took his decision down to Signing Day with a choice between OU and Notre Dame, ultimately selecting the Sooners.

That’s in large part because defensive coordinator Mike Stoops offered him first as a sophomore and, along with linebackers coach Tim Kish, stayed in on him all the way persistently all the way.

Quick becomes the 25th signee for the 2014 class.
