NORMAN, Okla. — Oklahoma women's basketball tabbed its second conference win this season with a 61-50 win over Kansas State on Saturday night at Lloyd Noble Center. OU is now 2-2 in Big 12 play and 11-6 overall for the season.
What started as a lackluster performance offensively from both teams early in the contest, turned into a 38-point production by the Sooners in the second half to seal the victory.
Guard Aaryn Ellenberg led the team in scoring with 23 points while guard Sharane Campbell added a double-double performance to her resume with 14 points and 10 boards. During a night when offense was primarily a disappointment, the Sooners defense racked up 43 rebounds, including 31 defensive boards.
KSU finished the game shooting 30 percent from the field while OU shot an equally unimpressive 41 percent. Both teams combined for just 41 points before the halftime break that included a five-point Sooner lead.
Next up the Sooners travel to take on West Virginia on Jan. 18.
