I think Bob addressed the areas of concern. First he fired Martinez because of the "as Mike called it...sloppy play".
He recruited some excellent WR talent, including a top notch juco WR. Add a juco all american OT also.
He recruited a juco all american RB and a blocking TE.

Kameel Jackson tweeted that Bennet Okatcha is the next Ed Reed. From what I have heard is he is the real deal. Competition at the wide receiver should get us some great play. If we don't get better play out of the DT's and Safeties we are sunk. DE's we lost 2 starters so that is a worry.

Kicking game would be about #24 on my list of concerns. We are now good to go there.

james I'm surprised you didn't mention the defensive tackles and defensive ends I think King will be an AA and Washington will compliment him but other than Walker we are suspect along that entire front and we did not recruit any relief this was a big reason 4 our poor defensive secondary. you could crochet blankets with the amount of time oklahoma gave opponents time throw

Jones can't lead? Wow what a strange assumption. In order for THAT to be true, you would have to say in the three games we lost that they were ALL Landry's fault. How frickin ridiculous. YOU MEAN THE FACT THAT THE O LINE COULDN'T RUN BLOCK MEANT NOTHING? Do you mean that the fact that the Defense allowed teams to score at will meant nothing?

To show changes and improvement on defense. Open up the competition at LBs. Find that 4 man rotation in the DL. Let Mike hire and fire then hire and fire his DBs till he feels comfrtable with their knowledge of what they will be asked to do. Better safety play. Back to more of that umbrella type. Hopefully the front 7 will improve to allow that. And to absolutely more than anything... Find a pass rusher. We don't have the type of horses at end to do this in a 3-4 but I believe in a 4-3 scheme RJ's initial burst may give some opposing tackles some problems and it should allow a DKing to play with more leverage in the run defense.
But just some good work out of the defense this spring and carry it over to the summer.
