With OU’s first game just a mere 5 days away, things are starting to become clear with the release of the 2-deep lineup earlier today depicting who will be getting most of the playing time on Saturday night. One player that is looking forward to Saturday night is safety turned corner, Aaron Colvin.

“Man, it is game week and I am super excited especially since we get to see a different offense than the one we go up against every day in practice,” said Colvin. “I am anxious to see some of our offensive guys though like Trey (Metoyer). He has tremendous hands and we get to watch him everyday in practice but you guys are in for a treat come Saturday. I will be peaking at the JumboTron to see all my guys over on the offensive side of the ball.”

Colvin admits that moving back to corner might have cost him a shot at some of the preseason honors but that just motivates him even more.

“I know I just moved back over from safety but I didn’t make any pre-season lists and I take that personal,” said Colvin. “I feel like I have been disrespected and so has Demontre as well. I have even mad that my screensaver and I look at it every day and I motivates me to go out and prove people wrong. Both of us are being dissed and we are just going to go out and show people up and prove that we are legit and are going to shut people down. For me personally, I feel like I have a little bit of everything to offer because I can play press and I can play back. I like to see what the receiver is going to do and I like to confuse the quarterback as well. “

Colvin and the rest of his defensive teammates are shooting for a shutout and come Saturday night, we will see what defensive coordinator Mike Stoops and his defense have in store for the Miners of UTEP.
